Reading, Language Arts, Science, & Social Studies
For Reading, Language Arts, Science, & Social Studies, Atlanta Prep utilizes the comprehensive Core Knowledge® curriculum, which builds students’ knowledge & vocabulary across literature, history, geography, & science while teaching reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. In addition, we incorporate many Orton-Gillingham® strategies in our one-to-one instructional block. This prescriptive approach to teaching literacy is especially helpful when reading, writing, and spelling does not come easily to individuals, such as those with dyslexia.
Math
Eureka Math® is the curriculum Atlanta Prep uses to teach math. Eureka Math® teaches mathematics as a “story.” The program builds students’ knowledge logically and thoroughly to help them achieve a deep understanding allowing students to notonly know the process of solving aproblem, but to understand why thatprocess works.
Mindful Movement & Arts
Atlanta Prep offers Mindful Movement and art. Mindful Movement presents physical & psychological benefits for children, while art taps a child’s creativity while providing them a voice without words.
